Lion & Hyena Ridge Coming to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has announced its largest and most immersive animal habitat expansion in over a decade: the Lion & Hyena Ridge at Edge of Africa. The new 35,000 square foot area will open in 2026, and feature state-of-the-art habitats, enhanced guest experiences, and up-close animal interactions.

Lion & Hyena Ridge Expansion Details
The Lion & Hyena Ridge expansion will be a major update to the Edge of Africa animal area.
According to Busch Gardens, the expansion will include:
A grand new entrance into Edge of Africa, complete with a serene water feature and naturalistic Kopje rock formations
Four shaded glass viewing structures offering 270-degree views of the habitats
Up-close animal interactions and enhanced educational experiences with zookeepers
Immersive, ever-changing environments that give animals the freedom to explore, interact, and thrive

Kopje-style rock formations and naturalistic terrain
