Carowinds Announces Rip Roarin’ Falls Opening in 2027

Carowinds has announced the name and details of the 2027 attraction at a public event at Harmony Hall on Monday, June 8, 2026. Rip Roarin’ Falls is a Super Flume water ride manufactured by WhiteWater with a length of 2240 feet and a ride duration of 6.5 minutes. The top speed will be 50 mph, and it’ll reach a height of 100+ feet. The minimum height requirement is 35” with a parent, or 42” unaccompanied.

The new attraction, which is themed to an abandoned lumber mill, will set three world records:

  1. Tallest drop on a log flume at 100+ feet

  2. Tallest reverse drop of 42 feet

  3. Tallest reverse camelback of 32 feet

The ride vehicles, which were on display at the event at Harmony Hall, will have four rows of 2-across seating with individual lap bars.

“This level of investment and innovation is a true testament of our team’s commitment to bringing legendary attractions and world-class experiences to the Carolinas,” said Bridgette Bywater, Carowinds president. “As a new signature ride, it combines record-setting thrills and cutting-edge ride innovation—all with a 35-inch height requirement that makes it accessible for families. It’s the perfect addition, sure to create lasting memories for generations of guests.”

The new attraction was first announced in a November 2024 Six Flags press release as a “record-breaking water ride” to be added to the park in 2026. Carowinds Park President Bridgette Bywater says that it’s the most requested type of attraction by park guests.
