Walibi Belgium Announces RMC Coaster and New Land

Walibi Belgium has announced a multi-year investment that includes converting its Loup-Garou (“werewolf” in English) wooden roller coaster into a hybrid coaster. Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) will develop the new coaster, which is planned to reach a height of 48 meters (157.5 feet), a total track length of 1231 meters (4039 feet), and a max speed of 106 km/h (66 mph). The new hybrid coaster will feature a 47-meter (154-foot) drop with an 89-degree incline, along with three other unique features.

Loup-Garou will close after Walibi Belgium’s 2026 season. The wooden Vekoma coaster opened on April 28, 2001.

The new RMC hybrid coaster is expected to open in 2028 as part of the first phase of a new land, Festival World, inspired by New Orleans. In 2030, a second phase will include retheming several existing attractions, adding new food outlets, adding a themed main restaurant, new family drop towers, and a water playground.
