Lagoon Announces J3 Grand Prix Coaster Opening in 2027

Lagoon Amusement Park (Farmington, Utah) has announced they will open the park’s 11th coaster in 2027.

J3 Grand Prix is scheduled to debut in July 2027 and will be the first-ever launched single-rail coaster in the United States. The coaster is a “Hot Racer” coaster manufactured by Intamin. As of the announcement, three parks have operating Intamin Hot Racers: Dream Island in Russia, Luna Park in Australia, and Walibi Rhône-Alpes in France.

J3 Grand Prix is named as a successor to the Jet Star 2 coaster, which was retired on November 9, 2025. The new coaster will feature 1,746 feet of track, a ride duration of 1 minute and 42 seconds, a top speed of 40mph, 13 airtime experiences, and three inversions. Two trains will have 10 single-file seats. The minimum rider height will be 48”.
