Edaville Theme Park Auctioning Off Rides

Edaville Family Theme Park in Carver, Massachusetts, is auctioning off many of its rides. A news release states, “The popular family amusement park is going to be reimagined with many wonderful things to come toward the end of the year.”

According to a CBS News article, the park’s Facebook page once stated that the park had been sold and the new operators had taken over. Meanwhile, King Richard’s Faire announced that it will be hosting its Renaissance Festival at the site of Edaville this summer. The Renaissance Festival will open on August 30th and run for eight consecutive weekends through October 19th. Tickets are available on King Richard’s Faire’s website.

"Guests planning to attend should continue to expect world class entertainment, shop incredible handmade wares throughout the Faire's artisan marketplace, and partake in food and beverage fit for a King all within the Faire's beautiful new realm," King Richard's Faire said in a statement.

In an interview with WBZ / CBS News Boston, Aimée Shapiro Sedley, Producer and General Manager of King Richard's Faire, stated that the park intends to continue operating the railroad and the park’s Christmas event.

Norton of Michigan Auctioneers is auctioning Edaville’s amusement park rides on April 30, 2025, at 10:30 am. The rides include many Zamperla flat rides, an SBF Visa spinning coaster, a 1986 Chance carousel, a Sally dark ride, a shooting gallery, and animated dinosaurs. The complete ride list is posted on the auction website.

In July 2023, Andrew from Park Rovers visited Edaville to check out the theme park and ride its historic train.

Edaville’s history dates back to 1947, when Ellis Atwood opened a train ride on his cranberry farm.
