Walt Disney - Master of Dreamers to Premiere at Orlando Film Festival
Walt Disney - Master of Dreamers: The Road to Epcot is set to premiere as the opening night film at the Orlando Film Festival. The 117-minute documentary by director Tony Cortese tells the story of the creation of Walt Disney World and the plans for E.P.C.O.T.
The Orlando Film Festival is October 17-24, 2019 and tickets are available now.
Here’s the trailer:
The 1964-65 New York World's Fair was arguably the most important stepping stone that Walt Disney took in paving the way for the future of the Disney Parks in years to come. It was the first time East Coast audiences got a chance to see Disney shows and attractions that had become legendary at Disneyland in California.
What the world didn't know at the time, was that Walt Disney had much bigger plans for the East Coast. Secretly buying up parcels of land in Central Florida accumulating property twice the size of the island of Manhattan, Walt was planning the foundation for his biggest idea yet... Walt Disney World. At the epicenter of this "Florida Project" would be E.P.C.O.T. An Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. A utopian progress city of the future that would surely change the world forever.
Sadly Walt Disney died only 1 year after his formal announcement but his Brother Roy and his team of loyal imagineers dug in and built the dream Walt Had.
The film is not available to stream yet, but we’ll keep you posted when it becomes available. Read more about the film.
